Skillfair is an independent, privately owned company specialising in supporting the growing trade in expertise between small companies and individuals offering knowledge based services and the companies and organisations that need their skills and experience.

We believe that independent consultants, freelancers, agencies and interims offer great value for money and represent an untapped and undervalued reservoir of skill and talent. Smart businesses use the skills and experience of the independent sector to supplement their own resources with specialist knowledge.

We know from our own experience that businesses often find it difficult to locate exactly the right expertise to help them - and also that consultants face an uphill struggle in getting in touch with new clients.

We work formally and informally with many organisations who provide services to independent practitioners and freelancers, including professional bodies, institutes and trade associations. For many of these organisations independent practitioners are a minority of their membership - but their numbers and influence are growing all the time.

Skillfair is able to provide proven, effective services for this group of members in a  way that is sensitive to the objectives of the organisation but also provides real commercial benefit to their members.

Advertising with Skillfair is an easy and cost-effective way of reaching a unique community of UK based businesses.

Our 10,000+ members are independent business owners who have full control of the decision making process in their small knowledge-based businesses. Services aimed at SOHO and SME businesses are well received by this group, as are specialist events, conferences and professional development opportunities.

In addition our members act as consultants, advisors and influencers to businesses of all types and sizes and are able to recommend services and products to their clients.

We provide a range of advertising options to suit your needs, from brand awareness to low cost targeted email campaigns

Skillfair operates on a membership basis, all consultants are charged a simple membership fee of £144  a year which gives them access to any project on the site. We don't take commission on any assignments placed through the site and consultants can take up a free 3 month trial before deciding to join.

Clients can try the service by posting their first project advert free, after that further adverts are £30 each or regular clients can join as members for £99 - client membership includes 4 adverts and discounts of further adverts.
