PCG ISO9001 Scheme Discount

Operating as an independent professional or consultancy is very competitive and particularly in the public sector there is an increasing need for smaller companies to prove that they have the professionalism and quality they claim. Unfortunately, many small companies perceive quality standards as being too expensive or cumbershome for their needs so shy away from adopting them.

PCG, The Professional Contractors Group, have developed an ISO9001 accreditation scheme specifically for the consultant and contractor market that allows you to be fully accredited at a much lower than normal price and with much less admin.

ISO9001 accreditation focuses solely on the administration of your business and covers areas such as;

  • company and premises risk assessment
  • employee CV and training records
  • client proposals and follow up
  • client contracts
  • sub contractor records
It doesn't cover the actual work that you do and the documents that record that so it's relatively easy to define processes that work for the vast majority of consultants. While larger companies may have to spend a significant amount of money defining their processes and quality standards, the PCG scheme provides you with a ready made set of processes that are simple and easy to follow.

The PCG system includes an online document store to help you manage your company documentation so that the process of accreditation and regular audits can be done remotely, reducing both the cost and the administrative effort required.

We've been impressed by the pragmatic approach the scheme uses - nearly 50 companies have been through the process so it has been thoroughly road tested with real consultants and companies.

The scheme costs £1300 or the first year (0-4 employees) and this fee includes full training, ready to use quality procedures, telephone support, an internal audit and the external accreditation by UKAS There is an annual fee for the renewal process of £850, which includes the two annual audits combined with the hosting and security of your web based records and telephone support.
