What is the RSS Project Feed?

Skillfair provides full members with a personalised RSS feed - this is a news feed that you can use to find out about new projects as soon as we post them so you don't have to wait for the daily email alert. It's very useful if you're going to be out of email contact for a while but can still get access to the internet.

There are lots of news or RSS readers about, this is a link to the BBC web page about RSS which gives some useful pointers. You can either download a news reader to your PC, or more usefully if you're out and about, use a web based reader.

The simplest ones I've found so far are Google and Yahoo.

First of all you'll need a Google account, to get one go to Google and click on Sign In at the top right corner. This lets you sign in with your gmail address if you have one or create a new account. Once your account is activated you'll see a new Google home page with the usual search fields but with extra blocks for news articles, weather etc. These are all news feeds and all you need to do now is add your own news feeds - including the Skillfair one.

To do that login to Skillfair and click on the orange button marked RSS then click on the 'Add to Google' button.

The process for Yahoo is similar, you just need to set up a Yahoo account first.
