Project or Opportunity?

Projects

A 'Project' is a piece of work that you or a client need doing and for which there is a plan to engage a consultant and a definite budget. Projects can be large or small, they can require the consultant to work on a client site or to work from their own office. However, we do operate a minimum budget rule, which is currently set at £200 per day excluding VAT. In our experience a lower fee than this is unlikely to produce a response from well qualified consultants.

Projects are given different icons on Skillfair depending on their origin, as follows.

OJEU Project is from the Official Journal of the European Community
lower value public tenders Project or tender is from a client website - normally a lower value public       sector tender not advertised on the European Journal.
direct client projectProject posted directly on Skillfair by a client or consultant.

Opportunities

Sometimes it's useful to get together with other consultants, to bid for a large project or to put together a team with different skills to attack a particular market sector. If you want to use Skillfair to get in touch with other consultants in this way then we post this as an 'Opportunity' rather than a 'Project'.

We sometimes use Opportunities to post requests for volunteers that we think consultants will be interested in or for projects where it isn't very clear what, if any, budget is available. opportunity indicates an Opportunity.
