Skillfair Events in 2010
Manchester 2009
Yesterday's conference went by so quickly, even though there was a minor panic when we realised all roads in the North were hit by torrential rain - with the usual traffic problems as a result. But the new format with a mix of presentations, discussion and parallel workshops worked really well - with people networking avidly at every opportunity. For those who couldn't make it - or want the slides for reference - I've loaded the presentations on the site at /content/771/Consultants-Conference-2009---Presentations.aspx
Events for 2010
Many people commented yesterday that they'd like to hear more about how best to use Skillfair, so we're considering putting on a fairly informal event to look at this early in 2010. I've put together a 3 question survey on the subject so if you're interested in an event on this theme, please click here - it also gives you a chance to tell us where you think next year's conference should be held so please take the opportunity to give use your views.
This week's projects
As usual a mix of projects and tenders from across the UK - please call us or email if you think you should have seen these sooner.

Thought for the week
A theme running through all the conference sessions was the need to take a positive attitude to business and particularly to your peers. As one speaker said, "none of us gets enough appreciation - so why not start by giving some to someone else!". It is very easy to batten down the hatches in hard times but those who stay in touch and stay positive will have a better time and be much better placed to win business during and after the recession. So if you're in the happy position of being snowed under with work why not think about farming some of it out to associates? Posting a project on Skillfair will give you access to great people and we even provide a template sub-contract to get you started!
