The organisation wishes to commission a properly controlled trial to be undertaken in a nature reserve, in the main part of a Manx shearwater colony, to investigate the impact of brown rat predation on Manx shearwater breeding success. Results from this trial will help to determine what future action will be taken to safeguard the future of the breeding Manx shearwater population.
