Title 26404 Specialist advice on sustainability issues Client Website
Summary The Joint Planning Unit requires the following specialist advice in order to implement existing policies and to develop and test policies in the JCS review and district development plan documents (DPDs):

1. Advice on sustainable design issues including Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM and renewable energy technologies. This will be at a pre-application and application stage and will assist developers and planning authorities in identifying technically and economically viable approaches to sustainable design issues (including taking forward the energy strategy). It will also be through input into masterplans, design codes and DPDs.

The time required for this work will vary dependent on the receipt of development proposals and progress on DPDs. For the purpose of quoting, it should be assumed that this work will entail up to 70 days work per annum;

2. Advice on the Sustainability Appraisal (including Strategic Environmental Assessment) of the JCS and district DPDs. This will involve assessing and reporting on emerging spatial options for the JCS (for September 2010) and the draft JCS (Spring 2011). It will also involve coordinating the use of an assessment framework, derived from the JCS Scoping report, for assessing district DPDs with input from specialist officers in partner organisations including the County Council and Wildlife Trust.

The time input associated with this work will vary dependent on progress on DPDs. For the purpose of quoting, it should be assumed that this work will entail up to 35 days work per annum.

This work will require regular liaison with the JPU, including attendance at meetings in Corby and at the offices of the district councils.
