Client Newsletter - Value for Money
Our annual fee rate survey closed last week and after analysing the responses - which came from well over 1500 consultants across all specialisms and all areas of the UK- there's good news for clients. Rates on average were 8% down during 2009 compared to 2008, although some specialisms such as Change Management and Coaching held up much better than others.

2010 Annual Fee Rate Survey
Skillfair’s 5th Annual Fee rate Survey comes at a time when many independent consultants and freelancers are feeling under pressure from all sides. Clients are under pressure to reduce costs and retain permanent staff – plus to read the press it would seem there are thousands of newly redundant 40 and 50 something’s looking to set up as self-employed. In this difficult market it really pays to know what your peers are actually charging and how you compare – otherwise it can be very hard to resist requests from clients that devalue your services.

2009 Skillfair Fee Survey - Full Results
Skillfair's 5th Annual fee rate survey shows a slightly surprising increase of 7.5% in average fee rates. We think this reflects the desire of clients to avoid using agencies and the strong relationships that many of our consultants have with their cliernt base.
